Making it easy to remember passwords
Are you sick and tired of remembering all the different passwords to
various different sites? About 90 percent of the membership sites on the
Internet use an authentication method called "realm." Few people
know that when dealing with realm, the authentication information
(username and password) can be sent in the URL by accessing the site using
the format:
http://username:password@www.sitename.com/memberarea
WARNING: If you create a bookmark with the username and password included,
anyone who uses your computer will be able to access the site using your
information. Of course, it's also worth mentioning that most of us write
down the user ID and password on a sheet of paper next to our computer
anyway.
