How To Restore the Default Animated IE Logo

If you have installed IE5 from a ISP branded CD, it is most likly to have been customised with that ISP's logos.  If you wish to remove the ISP's animated logo from IE5, here is how you go abaout it.

First make sure to back up the system.dat and user.dat files in your Windows folder, preferably to a floppy or another folder on your hard drive.  Launch the Registry Editor by clicking Start, and selecting Run. Type

regedit in the Run dialog box that appears. Navigate to the key

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Toolbar

In the right pane, select BrandBitmap and SmBrandBitmap.  Delete these entries. Exit the Registry Editor and restart your computer. You will find that the default IE animated logo is now back, and the ISPs logo has gone..!
