A keyboard shortcut for restarting your Mac

When you're unfortunate enough to experience an inescapable system freeze, whatever you do, don't unplug your Macintosh. Instead, simultaneously press the [command][control] and power keys to restart. Most of the time this will reboot your Mac without your having to pull the plug. Don't use this shortcut except in the case of a system freeze, because you won't have a chance to save any work and it doesn't shut down your computer properly. Whenever you experience a systemcrash, you should rebuild the desktop upon restart by holding down the [command][option] keys until you're prompted to rebuild the desktop.
