Find the original application on your Mac Aliases are convenient because they allow you to launch an application without having to locate the application's actual icon. But sometimes you really do need the actual application icon, perhaps to change its memory allocation. Instead of digging through folders, you can find the location of an aliased application by holding down the [control] key and clicking on the item to display the contextual menu. About halfway down, you'll see Show Original. Select it to quickly display the original application no matter where it is.
