Easily accessing FrontPage 2000's New dialog box
In a recent tip, we described the potential difficulties you can run into when trying to access the New dialog box in FrontPage 2000. When you're in certain views, choosing File | New | New Page brings up the dialog box, which allows you to choose from a variety of page styles. When you're in Folders view, however, choosing the command just creates a new, blank page. Tip subscriber John Kelly suggested a more permanent solution to the problem: adding a New Page button to the Standard toolbar that forces the dialog box to appear. To do so, choose View | Toolbars | Customize. Click on the Commands tab and select File from the Categories scrolling list. Then, choose New Page... (note the ellipses after the command name) and drag the icon up to the Standard toolbar, just to the right of the existing New Page button. Close the dialog box, and you'll have a New Page button that will always allow you to access the New Page dialog box. If you'd like to remove the existing button, just drag it off the toolbar while the Customize dialog box is open.
