Exporting Illustrator 8 layers into Photoshop 5

Exporting layers from an Illustrator file into Photoshop is a great way to add Photoshop filters to specific pieces of your artwork while maintaining the file's layers. To do this, choose File > Export. In the resulting dialog box, choose Photoshop 5 from the Format dropdown list and then rename your file with a ps5 extension. When you exit Illustrator, double-click on the file you just created with the ps5 extension. The file will automatically be opened in Photoshop, complete with all the original layers you created in Illustrator.
