Verify the exact position of custom tabs in Word without a dialog box
Setting tabs in Word is easy. You just choose a tab style (left aligned, decimal, and so on) by clicking on the tab icon at the left end of the horizontal ruler. Then, click on the ruler wherever you want to set the tab. To make your tab placement precise, just hold down the [Alt] key, then point to the tab marker on the ruler while holding down the mouse button. As long as you hold down the [Alt] key and the mouse button, Word displays the exact position of the tab. You can also drag the tab marker as you press [Alt], and Word updates the tab position as the marker moves.
